Raymond G. Leffler was admitted to practice law in the State of New York
in March 1958 and in the United States Supreme Court in May 1970. He has
been in private practice from 1958 to present.
At the present time he serves as Legal Advisor to the Congress of Racial
Equality (CORE) in matters relating to leasing, contracts, employment and
civil rights and General Counsel to the New York Chapter of CORE. He is
also legal counsel to the law firm of Moldover Hertz Cooper & Gidaly, in
N.Y.
Over his many years in the legal profession, Mr. Leffler has served as an
arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association Commercial Panel and
no-fault Panel. He has been listed with the Labor Panel of Arbitrators
since 1970.
Mr. Leffler is a professor of business law at Baruch College of the City
of New York; He served as an adjunct and assistant professor with Baruch
from 1971-1978. He teaches courses in the law of business contracts and
corporate organization. In 1965 Mr. Leffler was elected Justice of the
Peace for the City of Yonkers, New York.
Mr. Leffler holds a Bachelor of Arts degree Cum Laude from the City
University of the City of New York where he graduated in 1954. In 1957 he
was awarded a L.L.D. from Columbia University Law School. He is
experienced in all aspects of litigation including Title VII
discrimination and commercial cases, including leasing, landlord-tenant
disputes, corporations, small businesses and not-for-profit groups and
negligence automobile matters.
He is the author of a Textbook on law titled "Fundamentals of Partnership
Law in Modern Business" published by the Kendall-Hunt Publishing Company,
Dubuque, Iowa in 1975. He has written several articles for legal
publications including the "Resolution of Business Disputes in the Close
Corporation" that was published in The American Arbitration Journal in
December 1976.
Mr. Leffler served as a member of the United States Army Infantry Branch,
305th Infantry 77th Division, NYS from
1951-1954. He is married with 3 children and currently resides in
Westchester, N.Y. |
